当人们的眼睛游走于世界地图时，他们的眼光不能不被中国那状似雄鸡的巨大版图吸引。
当我们纵览中国地图时，我们总是不能忽略雄鸡脖颈处的那串璀璨的项链――――-山东半岛。
当人们仔细的观察这半岛的旖旎姿态时，夺目的光华照亮了他们的眼睛――――-青岛，山东半岛这条项链上最耀眼的明珠，让人目眩神迷。

“青岛”这个名称，原指小青岛（也叫琴岛），以岛上“山岩耸秀，林木蓊郁”而得名。“青岛”之名的出现，就现在已发现的典籍文献来看，最早有明确记载的是在明代中叶，距今已有400多年的历史。
明代万历七年（1579年），即墨县令许铤曾遍察即墨四方海域及乡土，主持过《即墨县志》的编纂。
